Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and skills to perform their tasks effectively.
  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and manage workloads to ensure timely delivery of high-quality work.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, encouraging continuous improvement and professional development.

Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement QA strategies, plans, and schedules in alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Define the scope, objectives, and criteria for QA activities, ensuring that all requirements are thoroughly tested and validated.
  • Coordinate with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that QA activities are integrated into the overall project plan.

Test Design and Execution:

  • Oversee the design, development, and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure comprehensive coverage of requirements.
  • Ensure that tests are conducted according to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Review and approve test designs, ensuring they are efficient, effective, and aligned with project requirements.

Quality Assurance and Risk Management:

  • Monitor and enforce adherence to quality standards, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may impact product quality.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize potential risks during the QA process.
  • Ensure that all defects are identified, logged, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Ensure that all QA activities are thoroughly documented, including test plans, test results, defect logs, and validation reports.
  • Prepare and present regular status reports to stakeholders, highlighting key findings, risks, and recommendations.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of all QA processes, procedures, and methodologies.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and industry standards to ensure that QA activities are conducted at the highest level of quality.
  • Lead initiatives to adopt new technologies, tools, and techniques that can improve QA performance.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for QA activities, ensuring clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, quality assurance, and regulatory teams, to ensure alignment and integration of QA activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team and other stakeholders as needed.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that all QA activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., ISO, FDA, MDR).
  • Participate in audits and regulatory inspections, providing evidence of compliance with QA standards and procedures.

Technical Skills:

  • Quality Assurance and Testing Methodologies:
    • Proficient in QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.
    • Experience with both manual and automated testing.
  • Test Planning and Execution:
    • Ability to develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
    • Experience with test execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Automation Tools:
    • Proficiency with automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, QTP, or similar.
    • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript for automation.
  • Performance Testing: Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
  • API Testing: Proficient in API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or REST-assured.
  • Version Control Systems: Experience with version control systems such as Git, SVN, or similar.

Leadership and Management Skills:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of QA engineers.
    • Experience in managing and coordinating team activities and resources.
    • Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and tracking project timelines.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communication:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to make informed decisions quickly and effectively under pressure.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.​

Industry Knowledge and Compliance:

  • Standards and Regulations: Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, IEC, FDA).
  • Domain Knowledge: Experience and knowledge in the healthcare industry domain
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in QA/QC/QA roles, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or team lead position.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or similar are a plus.
